Passport Day 2014

12 - 4 PM, Grand Ballroom Lounge of Stamp Student Union
Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2014

The first step before going abroad is securing a United States passport. Therefore, the Honors College and Education Abroad are sponsoring Passport Day: a one-stop-shop to help you get a head start on your study abroad adventure! The US Department of State Washington Passport Agency will be on hand to personally process your passport application. Additionally, there will be a photographer present to take and print your passport photo.

What You Will Need to Get Your Passport

1. Fill Out Form DS-11: Application For A U.S. Passport
**Do NOT Sign your form until you meet with an agent on September 9th**

2. Submit Completed Form DS-11 In Person
This step will be completed on September 9th.
**Again, Do NOT Sign your form until you meet with an agent on September 9th**

3. Submit Evidence of U.S. Citizenship

4. Present Identification

5. Submit a Photocopy of the Identification Document(s) Presented (Step 4) PLEASE BE SURE TO READ THE COPY INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY. Copy the FRONT AND BACK of the documents.

6. Pay the Applicable Fee
Check payable to “Department of State” for $135*

7. Provide One Passport Photo
One (1) color 2”x2” passport photo
Bring your own -or- a photographer will be on hand on September 9th taking and printing passport photos for a fee of $10. Cash or check acceptable. Please make check payable to University of Maryland.

Following processing, passport books and submitted documents will be delivered via Priority Mail Delivery Confirmation to the permanent address listed on your application within 4 weeks. If you need to renew your passport (or are unsure if you are eligible to renew) click here for more information. This process can be done by mail or on Passport Day (Sept. 9th).
