University Honors Student Wins CDC Environmental Internship
Victoria (Tori) Tully, an anthropology and global health and development major, has won a summer internship award from the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta. The CDC Collegiate Leaders in Environmental Health program is a 9-week internship for students who are passionate about the environment and interested in human health. Tori was one of only eight students selected from 289 applicants. Learn more about the CDC program.
Integrated Life Sciences Student Wins Kennedy Center Award
ILS senior Mia Levenson won the Kennedy Center American Collegiate Theatre Festival's Undergraduate Scholar Award. Mia will graduate with a B.S. in biological sciences with a specialization in physiology and neurobiology and a B.A. in theatre with a concentration in theatre history and theory. Her award-winning essay examined 17th-century anatomy theaters and their effects on the ways audiences viewed Jacobean drama.
National Cancer Institute Awards Steve Chen Fellowship
Integrated Life Sciences senior Steve Chen received the National Cancer Institute (NCI) Center for Global Health (CGH) Fellowship. Steve, a biological sciences and global health double major, will work with NCI staff to develop and implement projects that support strengthening of cancer research and cancer control globally. Integrated Life Sciences Senior Named 2017 Marshall Scholar
Honors College senior Aaron Solomon was recently awarded the 2017 Marshall Scholarship, a prestigious honor that will allow him to pursue graduate study at any university in the United Kingdom. With a major in biological sciences and a minor in computer science, the Integrated Life Sciences senior plans to attend Imperial College London for a Master of Science degree in genomic medicine and the University of Cambridge for a Master of Philosophy degree in bioscience enterprise.
