Honors College alumni

Honors College Alumni Network (HCAN) welcomes alumni from UMD’s Honors College living-learning programs who desire to reconnect and engage with each other among a diverse group of peers. With 17,000 members, the popularity of Honors and UMD reflects broad recognition of Honors’ academic excellence, dynamic peer group and strong community.

Opportunities provided and investments made in these exceptional students now will yield immeasurable personal and professional contributions in years to come. With a wide range of sophisticated academic offerings, undergraduate research opportunities with the country’s top minds, and outstanding faculty in and out of the classroom students thrive in this highly successful program.

The HCAN is currently looking to grow four new committees: Current Student Engagement, Alumni Social Programs, Professional Development, and Marketing.

Host an Honors College intern

Honors alumni are encouraged to share internship opportunities with the Honors College. Internships are an excellent way for students to explore their academic and career interests, as well as for businesses and organizations to gain top-notch skills and contributions on their teams. Honors students are eager to intern full-time or part-time during the summer (late May to late August) or winter term (January) nearly anywhere in the world, and part-time during the academic year within commuting distance of College Park.

Alumni who are interested in submitting internship opportunities, should email honors@umd.edu with:

  • A description of the internship
  • Preferred hours
  • Minimum qualifications/skills required
  • Whether the internship is paid or volunteer
  • Contact information
