ADVISING

Academic advising is readily available to Honors College students. The goal of Honors academic advising is to help students maximize their undergraduate experiences by making informed decisions about their academic and extracurricular opportunities.

The Honors College has two full-time advisors who are available by appointment and via email and phone. Mr. Dean Hebert and Ms. Liza Lebrun, assist Honors College students through their entire four years at the University. The Honors advisors can be especially helpful to students who are still in the process of selecting a major or majors, including those who initially choose Letters & Sciences (undecided major). Honors advisors can also assist any student requiring additional attention for any reason or who "just wants to talk." Honors Advisors also help students navigate the University academic system easily and efficiently (e.g., special exception guidelines, academic dates, transfer credit policies, etc.).

Honors academic advisors coordinate workshops to help students with transition to the university, manage time effectively, decide upon a major, creating and editing a resume/cover letter and gain additional opportunities such as internships or national scholarships.

Each Honors student also has access to faculty and professional staff advisors in their academic major(s) and in their academic college(s) and an academic advisor in their Honors living-learning program. This overlapping system ensures that Honors College students have multiple layers of advising to help inform their decision-making throughout their college careers.
