ACADEMIC ADVISING IN HONORS
The Honors Program gives students choice and versatility in designing their own educations. Professional Honors advisors assist students in making informed decisions about their academic and extracurricular opportunities.
The University Honors Program has 2 full time Advisors, Mr. Dean Hebert and Ms. Liza Lebrun, who assist students through their entire four years at the University. Honors Advisors supplement College level advising (i.e. advising in your major) when necessary, but especially emphasize advising of Honors Letters & Sciences (undecided major) students and any student requiring additional attention, troubleshooting, or who "just wants to talk." Honors Advisors also help students navigate the University academic system easily and efficiently (e.g., special exception guidelines, academic dates, transfer credit policies, etc.).
Additionally, Honors academic advisors coordinate workshops to help students with transition to the university, manage time effectively, decide upon a major, and gain additional opportunities such as internships or national scholarships.
