President Hello all! My name is Allyson Williams, and I am the president of the W.E.B. DuBois Honor Society for the 2011-2012 school year. I am a senior Criminal Justice and Spanish double major, and am also a Banneker/Key Scholar. In addition to W.E.B. DuBois Honor Society, I am a member of Phi Beta Kappa honor society, and an executive board member of the Black Student Union. I also had the privilege of being a charter member in the first induction ceremony in December 2010. I am excited to be the president for this year and look forward to working with the general body in setting the foundation for a society that will have an impact on campus and in the community for years to come. Vice PresidentI am a junior Physiology and Neurobiology major and Spanish Language and Cultures minor in the University Honors Program. I graduated from Bishop McNamara High School in District Heights, Maryland. In addition to being a charter member of the W.E.B. Du Bois Honor Society, I am currently serving as the Vice President for the 2011-2012 school year. Within the Honors College, I am a Banneker/Key Scholar, 1st Vice President of the Black Honors Caucus and one of the two Portz Student Coordinators. Additionally, I work at the Honors College main desk during the semester. I am a member of Charles R. Drew Pre-Medical Society, the Primannum Honor Society, the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and the Archery Club. My post-undergraduate goal is to go directly into medical school after graduation and earn my MD in surgery, cardiology or pulmonology.

TreasurerHey everyone, my name is Zachary Ray. I’m a senior, majoring in Criminology and Criminal Justice. After graduation, I plan to attend law school in order to achieve my goal of becoming a criminal attorney. My role in the W.E.B. Dubois Honors Society is to manage finances as the chapter’s treasurer. Outside of the W.E.B. Dubois Honors Society, I’m captain of the Men’s Track & Field team. In Athletics, I’m a student athlete representative of the Athletic Council as well as a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Council. Public RelationsMy name is Viona Miller and I am a Banneker/Key scholar in the honors college majoring in civil engineering with a specific concentration in transportation and project management. In addition, I am pursuing a minor Germanic Studies. I completed a study abroad program in Tuebingen, Germany during the Summer of 2010. After graduation, I plan to attend law school, with an interest in the field of intellectual property law. Currently, I am serving as VP of Academic Relations in the Primannum Honor Society, VP of Public Relations in the Office of Multicultural Student Education (OMSE) Academic Excellence Society (OAES) and I am an active member of the Black Honor’s Caucus (BHC). I’m also a Customer Service Supervisor for Ellicott Hall.

SecretaryHey everyone! My name is Louise Tonic, and I am the newly
elected Secretary of the WEB Du Bois Honors Society at the
University of Maryland. I am entering my third year at UMD as
a General Biology major, with a Pre-Med concentration, and I
hail from the state of New Jersey. At the University, I am
also a member of the Honors College, and I will serve as
Community Liaison of the Black Honors Caucus this year.
Outside of academics, I am a relatively normal girl: I am
outgoing and down to earth, I love to laugh, and I find joy in
the little things in life. Basketball is my favorite sport,
blue is my favorite color, and spongebob is my favorite tv
show. I am very excited for what this year has in store, and
I look forward to working with all of you. Feel free to

After I graduate, I want to work at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and help fight and prevent infectious and chronic disease. My job within W.E.B. Du Bois is with telecommunications.
